Santa Barbara Volunteer Opportunities Wins Rep. Carbajal’s (CA-24) 2019 Congressional App Challenge
Rep. Salud Carbajal’s has named two Montecito students as the winner of the Congressional App Challenge in California’s 24th district. Providence School’s Sydney Whitehead and Ruby Kilpper submitted Santa Barbara Volunteer Opportunities, an app that allows for local volunteers to find service opportunities in a fast and effective way.
MedicMate Wins Rep. Axne’s (IA-03) 2019 Congressional App Challenge
Rep. Cynthia Axne has named three Clive students as the winner of the Congressional App Challenge in Iowa’s 3rd district. Waukee High School’s Owen Scott, Arya Karnik and Shriya Magatapalli submitted MediMate, an app that allows paramedics to easily communicate information regarding their patient’s condition with the trauma team at the hospital.
Blossom Wins Rep. Porter’s (CA-45) 2019 Congressional App Challenge
Rep. Katie Porter has named two Irvine students as the winner of the Congressional App Challenge in California’s 45th district. Portola High School’s Stephanie Zhang and Minsoo Kang submitted Blossom, a novel drug discovery app that uses multilayered machine learning algorithms to predict hotspots on protein complexes.
SociEmoti Wins Rep. Balderson’s (OH-12) 2019 Congressional App Challenge
Rep. Troy Balderson has named three Columbus students as the winner of the Congressional App Challenge in Ohio’s 12th district. McCord Middle School’s Kristina Ma, Stephen Ma and Arya Narayan submitted SociEmoti, an app that teaches elementary and middle school children with Autism social, emotional and communication skills in order to make more friends.
