Meet our Summer 2024 Interns!
Sherry Huang: Sherry Huang is an incoming junior at the University of California, Berkeley, pursuing a simultaneous degree in Sociology and Educational Science, with a minor in Data Science. At UC Berkeley, she is actively involved in an early childhood center, a literacy program for elementary students, and works as a Peer Advisor in the College of Letters & Science. Born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, Sherry has a passion for traveling and exploring new places. She is excited about pursuing a future career in public service, non-profit work, and any field related to education, children, and families. In her free time, Sherry enjoys cooking, crocheting, watching teenage movies and romantic comedies, and engaging in various design projects.
Shayan Jamaleddin: Shayan Jamaleddin is a rising senior at Loyola Marymount University pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Entrepreneurship and International Relations. At LMU, Shayan is actively involved in student leadership, serving as the Vice President of Student Wellness for the Associated Students of LMU, Vice President of Service for the Interfraternity Council, and a board member for the Persian Cultural Association. He is also a dedicated Orientation Leader and Tour Guide, helping new and prospective students navigate their college experience. Shayan is excited to bring his skills and passion for technology, politics, and public service to his role as a Congressional Affairs Intern for the Congressional App Challenge. In his free time, he enjoys DJing, staying active outdoors, and traveling to explore new places.
Joselyn Espinoza: Joselyn Espinoza is an incoming junior at the University of California, Berkeley pursuing a major in Sociology and a minor in Public Policy. At UC Berkeley, Joselyn is heavily involved in the Associated Students of the University of California where she is able to work alongside her peers advocating for the needs of the student body. She previously interned with California Common Cause as the Legislative Intern. Throughout her time with California Common Cause she had the opportunity to conduct policy research on important issues and bills. Coming from an underserved community, Joselyn understands the importance of access to resources as well as opportunities. She hopes to leverage her experiences and apply her knowledge to have a positive impact as the Congressional Affairs Intern for the Congressional App Challenge. In her free time, she loves going to concerts, shopping, and exploring new cities.
