Members of Congress Learn To Code
The Congressional App Challenge sat down with three STEM leaders on Capitol Hill for a crash course in coding. Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (WA-01), Congresswoman Young Kim (CA-40), and Congresswoman Stephanie Bice (OK-05) each sat down with Medha Gupta, a former Congressional App Challenge winner and member of the Alumni Advisory Board, to help complete the coding for our Pass the Bill side-scrolling game. The Members helped update design, adjust game speed, and ultimately set high scores as they dodged gavels and filibusters to get their bills passed. Full video recaps of these coding sessions will be available in the coming weeks.
Congressional App Challenge Alumni at the Congressional Hackathon 6.0
In celebration of National App Challenge Day, Speaker Mike Johnson and Leader Hakeem Jeffries have invited Congressional App Challenge Alumni to take part in the Congressional Hackathon on September 19. The App Challenge will have an outsized role at the Hackathon — where technologists meet policymakers and work on how to innovate Congress. Our alumni will be delivering six lightning pitches on technical ideas to improve the work of Congress, and we hope you can join us for this momentous occasion.
